About Linda Anderson

Linda Anderson is abest-selling author, national award-winning playwright, and inspirational speaker. She co-founded Writing on the Run to help people find time and space for writing. The Writer’s Digest E-Newsletter recommends her Web site (writingontherun.com). The 2006 Writer’s Market will publish her article on finding time and space to write. Linda Anderson offers Writing on the Run and Inspirational Writing presentations to anyone who wants to write for pleasure or publication. She teaches classes and workshops at The Loft Literary Center in Minneapolis and was awarded an Anderson Center’s Residency as The Loft’s Outstanding Teacher.

Her writing has taken her around the world as a speaker and writing instructor at seminars throughout the United States and Canada and to Mexico, England, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and West Africa. Her professional accomplishments, combined with being married for over twenty years, being a parent of two children, and operating a writing-editing business with her husband, give her a broad and extensive background with multiple areas of expertise and firsthand experiences.

Linda Anderson was awarded a 2004 Certificate of Commendation from Governor Tim Pawlenty in recognition of her contribution as an author enhancing the State of Minnesota. When she was the literary manager and Director of the New Play Project for the Academy Theatre in Atlanta, she wrote five plays, which were produced around the country. Three of them won national awards. She has received state and national grants to assist her writing and theater work.

Linda Anderson has a Masters Degree in reading education from St. Cloud State University in Minnesota where she graduated summa cum laude. She is a member of Minnesota’s Screenwriter’s Workshop and the National Writers Union. Linda is also a member of the American Society of Journalists & Authors (ASJA).

In 1996, Linda Anderson co-founded the Angel Animals© Network to raise awareness of the life enrichment and health benefits people receive from their relationships with animals (www.angelanimals.net). Since then, she has co-authored Angel Animals: Exploring Our Spiritual Connection with Animals, (Dutton-Plume, 1999), and books published by New World Library: Angel Cats: Divine Messengers of Comfort (2004), Angel Dogs: Divine Messengers of Love (2005), Rainbows & Bridges: The Animal Companion Memorial Kit (2005)Rescued: Saving Animals from Disaster (Fall 2006), Angel Horses: Divine Messengers of Hope (2006) Angel Animals: Divine Messengers of Miracles (2007), Saying Goodbye to Your Angel Animals (Summer 2008), Angel Dogs with a Mission (Fall 2008), Angel Animals Book of Inspiration (Spring 2009), Horses with a Mission (Fall 2009), Dogs and the Women Who Love Them (Fall 2010) and Animals and the Kids Who Love Them (Fall 2011). Her first book 35 Golden Keys to Who You Are & Why You’re Here was published in 1997 and in 2002, the Indian/Asian and German-language editions were released. Her books have been listed in Amazon.com Hot 100 and Barnes & Noble’s Top 10, What America Is Reading.

Linda Anderson’s work has been the subject of articles by the Associated Press, Gannett News Service, Knight-Ridder wire service, and other newspapers around the country.  Her work has twice been featured on NBC's The Today Show and also on ABC's Nightly News with Peter Jennings. She has been the subject of national wire service articles and interviews in London newspapers and by BBC Radio. She co-publishes two online newsletters, which reach over 20,000 readers in 50 states and 42 countries.

Over the years, Linda Anderson has published numerous articles, plays, and short stories. She writes articles, essays, screenplays, short stories, children’s books, and novels. Prior to becoming a best-selling book author, Linda Anderson was a teacher-trainer and co-author of a textbook series endorsed by the Georgia State Department of Education. Her company also designed training programs and business materials for the hospitality industry. She was the Newspaper in Education Coordinator for the Georgia Press Association.

For seven years, Linda Anderson was the publicist and seminar manager of an international nonprofit organization. For three years, she worked in collaboration with a nationally recognized publicist, specializing in writing, editing, and creating inspirational, spiritual, and self-help books and proposals that have best-selling potential. In that capacity she did editing and ghostwriting of several published books. One of them, The Dog Tags of Courage, was optioned for a feature film.
