Purpose of the Writing on the Run™ Writing Tips & Ideas Contest:

We at Writing on the Run™ are dedicated to sharing easy, practical, inspiring ideas and tips for making time and space to write during your busy life.

The Writing on the Run™ Website sponsored a nationwide contest to collect tips and ideas that will help others find time and space for writing.


 

Contest Rules:

Submissions must be 100 words or less in English.  They should be typed or legibly handwritten. Each submission must be accompanied with a Writing on the Run official entry form (below), completed, and signed by the contestant submitting the tip or idea.

Contest submissions will not be returned. Please do not include photographs. You may include a self-addressed, stamped envelope for announcement of winners or view the list of 1st place and 2nd place winners on the Writing on the Run™ Website by January 2, 2005. You can also subscribe to the free weekly, online Writing on the Run Tip of the Week and look for winners to be announced there.

To be eligible, contest entries must be received after May 1, 2004 and postmarked, faxed, or e-mailed no later than December 15, 2004.  

If ideas selected as winners must be the writer's original work and not violate any copyright laws or infringements. Writing on the Run™ is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate entry.

Entry Fee:

There is no entry fee to submit an idea for the contest.

Number of Entries:

Each individual is limited to submitting three separate entries.

Eligibility:

Allen and Linda Anderson's agents, employees, and their immediate family (spouse, mother, father, sister, brother, daughter or son, regardless of where they live) members of the same households (whether related or not) of such employees are not eligible to enter this contest.  There are no citizen status or resident country restrictions for contestants.

Judging:

Judging the submissions for this contest will be based on the exceptional, unique, and practical application of the idea for those who are working to find time and space for writing.  A panel of five working writers/authors will select the finalists.

All Writing on the Run™ Contest decisions are final.

Prizes:

Grand Prize

One grand prize of $250 will be awarded to the first-place winning contestant. The winning Writing on the Run™ submission will also be considered for possible publication in the proposed book, Writing on the Run™ by Allen and Linda Anderson (publishing date to be announced) and the online publication, "Writing on the Run Tip of the Week."

2nd Place Prize

A second place prize of $25.00 will be awarded to 5 contestants.  The 2nd place winners' submissions will also considered for possible publication in the proposed book, Writing on the Runby Allen and Linda Anderson (publishing date to be announced) and the online publication, "Writing on the Run Tip of the Week."

  1. I have read, understand and agree fully to the official rules of the Writing on the Run™ Contest and hereby request that you accept my entry or entries, evaluate and judge my submission(s), of which I am the sole author and have exclusive rights and authority to submit the same upon terms and conditions stated here within.
  2. I understand that Writing on the Run™ will not publish my submission or any part of it except in connection with the Writing on the Run™ Contest, without first receiving my written or verbal permission.
  3. I have retained copies of submitted material and I hereby release Allen and Linda Anderson or Writing on the Run™ of and from any and all liability for loss of or damage to the copy of said material submitted hereunder.
  4. I understand the contest judges' decisions are final.
